Depot header and departments menu

Set up the search bar, the All departments menu, main links and the deals link.

Depot's header puts search first: a wide search bar with a category filter, the All departments menu, and your main links.

Departments menu

  1. In Shopify admin, go to Content → Menus and create a menu, for example Departments.
  2. Add one item per department, such as Phones or Computers, and nest sub-categories under each one. Nested items show as a fly-out panel.
  3. In Customize → Header, choose it under Departments menu. You can also rename the button.

Search

The category filter lists your product types. Search suggestions show products, collections and pages as shoppers type. To let customers search by SKU, add Variant SKU to searchable fields in the Search & Discovery app.

Top bar and deals link

Use Top bar for a short message and utility links like Track order, and Highlighted link for a deals or sale collection.

Category chips

On collection pages, pick the same departments menu under Category chips menu. Each collection shows its sub-categories as chips.
